Malice through the Looking Glass
I speak but you don’t hit me.
I leave the door ajar.
You’ve told me all about yourself
And I know what you are.
The more I look
The more I loathe
The more I am attracted.
By every word of kindness
I am totally distracted
And I forget the things I’ve learnt
And I want you to care.
I want to change the very things
That tell me to beware.
I see no malice in the looking glass
But when I look at you
I sense you fear the wonderland
And you’re not passing through.
You stay behind where childhood lurks
Both darkly and insane.
I let you break the looking glass
To help you
Once again.
